Squeaks under carpet come from the plywood, chipboard or floorboards moving on the joists. The Stop Squeak Repair Kit fixes them without lifting the carpet.
How to fix it, step by step
- Find the joists. Use the joist-finder screws in the kit to mark where the joists run.
- Screw through the carpet. Drive the coated scored screws through the carpet into the joist next to the squeak.
- Snap off the head. The screw breaks off below the carpet, leaving nothing to see.
